Correct but, for most young people who don't remember internet before the web, that is mostly all it is... well, that is until apps surplanted the websites.

Want to cripple 2 whole generations? Take away their GUI's. Only GenX and the
Boomers would still be able to function. :)
was also a lot of .planning and fingering going on.

Heck, even as someone who used MS-DOS back in the 90's, as I
use it extensively for the first time in... thirty years... I'm kinda
lost and needing to reference a cheat sheet regularly.
And I use *bash* as a daily part of my job. lol on me XD

I have lately caught myself trying to execute linux cli commands
at the DOS prompt, and DOS commands at the bash prompt. Luckily,
so far, I have not stumbled across one that is super-destructive
when accidentally entered at the wrong prompt. ;)

That's ok, in the past I've caught myself trying use old Apple DOS
commands in both windows and linux. :)
cat/dir/ls Can't we just settle on a single command that will work
for all OS's? :)

that's why you get gnu-utils to have linux programs for windows.

I don't run Windows. In my case, the DOS prompt I am at would either
be dosemu, dosbox, or on an actual old DOS 6.22 machine.
I've seen people post about doing the following in Linux:
alias fucking='sudo'
Speaking of that...https://github.com/nvbn/thefuck
