    ColorConnect BBS Software
ColorConnect was a bulletin board system (BBS) software written for the TRS-80 Color Computer (CoCo) in the late 1980s
. As a BBS program, it allowed users to dial in via a modem to connect with a host computer and interact with the system.
    Key facts about ColorConnect

Platform: It ran on the TRS-80 Color Computer
, a home computer developed by Tandy Corporation. The CoCo platform was known for its graphics and sound capabilities for its time.
Purpose: As a BBS program, its purpose was to enable remote users to perform activities like reading and posting messages on message boards, downloading or uploading files, and playing door games.
Historical context: ColorConnect existed during the golden age of dial-up BBSes, which began in the early 1980s. These systems served as early online communities before the mainstream adoption of the internet.
Legacy: While dial-up BBSes are now a niche interest for retrocomputing enthusiasts, ColorConnect represents a piece of that history, specifically for the Color Computer community. Some BBSes still run today and are accessible over the internet via Telnet, though it's unclear if any still use ColorConnect software.
